He certainly never said it should be ignored but it is largely a gay
problem, that's not a value judgment it's just an objective fact of biology.
It has nothing to do with morality but AIDS is just transmitted much more
easily with homosexual sex than heterosexual sex. I think it is also an
objective fact that some people were very disappointed that AIDS did not
break out in a big way in the heterosexual community, but that's life.
