Nor do the French or Russians 'set the standard for human rights'. It
is they who have voted for countries like Libya and Cuba to sit on the
UN Human Rights Commission. If that is 'setting the standard' then the
US has nothing to worry about. The UN is declaring its own obsolescence
when it does this.

Lets get this straight: France, Germany, and Russia NEVER had
humanitarianism as the motive for their actions. I am sure the citizens
of those countries thought so after their government propaganda organs
got done with them, but propaganda does not proliferate facts. The
facts are that they traded illegally in weapons, smuggled oil, and
laundered money for Iraq and they opposed our invasion specifically
because they did not want the facts to be discovered. The UN opposed
our actions specifically because they did not want it to be discovered
that UN inspectors have been bribed.
