The speaker was generalizing. From his perspective it is silly to worry
about physical threats to this information because (1) the information is so
widely distributed as to be immune to almost any physical attack, (2) the
infrastructure supporting these patterns would not provoke an attack since
it is insignificant in the sense of posing a threat to others or competing
for limited resources, (2) the probability is vanishingly small that an
intelligence evolved enough to be capable would carry out such an immoral
destructive act.
