Science Daily is reporting that they have found that the PPARd receptor
plays a key role on fat storage & burning. If this fact can be turned
into a drug it will likely have a significant impact on weight which
in turn will help allow people to reduce high blood pressure and
presumably deaths from one type of stroke known as a "cerebral embolism".
Cerebral embolisms are about 20% of all strokes. In combination with
Alteon's-711 drug which increases the flexibility of the arteries
we might be starting to make a dent in this disease.
