    Lacto, so there was certainly animal protein in my diet. But I knew
    some pretty husky Vegans, too. I probably wouldn't even disagree that
    the stereotype of vegans as skinny and undeveloped (which was probably
    formed early in our culture, with the first appearance of vegetarians
    in the fifties) is not without some basis in fact; but it's still just
    a stereotype with a lot more counterexamples now than there were back
    then.
