    Reason suggested http://www.unicornjelly.com/uni001.html and I
did take a look. Oops, I was stuck in front of my browser all day
reading - look out! :-) The worldbuilding is fun, a really good
job of taking a weird physics and running with it to its logical
conclusion. It is an excellent story with some interesting
twists, and does include a kind of "fantasy transhumanism"
(especially in the second half) that feels refreshing - if there
are magical beasts and powers around (for whatever definition of
magical), why not use them in enhancing ways? One can base a
    singularity on more than nanotechnology.
