I've tried sky-diving (twice on the same day during my radical youth) and
scuba once (in Cancun just last year, where one can dive with a guide
without a scuba license).
I would agree that sky-diving is definitely more dangerous than scuba. I
recall packing my parachute next to a guy who was packing his chute while
sporting a plaster cast on his lower leg. He had broken his leg from a
previous sky-dive and was planning to take another dive even with the cast.
Scuba divers tend to be peaceful nature lovers. Sky-divers on the other hand
are adrenaline addicts. They're just plain nutz. :-)
