Yes, of course. See my message yesterday to Barbara, in which I quoted an
article by Loren Cordain Ph.D., who analyzed the dietary data of every
hunter-gatherer culture ever studied in the past or present. Dr. Cordain and
his fellow researchers calculated the mode of the percentage of calories
from animal sources and arrived at figures in the 60%-70% range.
Some cultures have of course relied more heavily on plants. It's probably a
reasonably normal (bell curve) statistical distribution.
