Excellent post with motivational properties! I would like to see more of
    these on the list.

On the specifics of the Atkins Diet, I am not sure where I stand. Everybody
I know who has tried it has loved it and seemed to get results.

Based on my nutritional knowledge, I am for high protein and low carbs.
However, I do not agree with the high fat part. High fat is dangerous. I
understand (and believe) that starving the body of carbohydrates makes it
burn away the fat. But I am not totally convinced that eating high fat and
burning it off avoids the bad health effects. It may still contribute to
heart disease and have other negative effects besides the weight gain which
is avoided. I think it might be healthier to avoid high fat anyway, or not
overdo it too much. I have never heard a reason that high fat is /required/
for the Atkins Diet, just acceptable.
