When one goofs at the keyboard it is called a
typo, so if one goofs the spoken word, I suppose
it is called a talko. There was a hilarious
talko on the radio news today. The newscaster
was commenting on a flight that was quarantined
on the runway in San Jose Tuesday for fear of SARS.

Background: PC-speak has mostly removed the term
"American" from the language, since it refers
to two continents and over a dozen nations. "U.S."
has replaced "American". At the same time the
term "black" when referrning to humans has been
    universally replaced with "African-American" to
such an extent that whenever one sees the term
American, it is almost always preceded by African-.
Now we have become accustomed to it.

The radio newsman said "Regarding the African-American
Air... ahhh, rather, the American Airlines flight
    quarantined in San Jose..."

I thought I would wet my diapers.

I would not be surprised if American Airlines
    changes their name soon.
