Electro-stimulation machines can be used to prevent muscle
atrophy in totally inactive patients (and hospitals do in fact use
them for that), but they are useless for bodybuilding, and the ones
being sold for that purpose are nothing but scams. There are
several sites on the web with good general information about medical
devices and treatments, for example http://www.healthcentral.com ,
and several sites debunking popular scams, like
http://www.quackwatch.com .
