True. A lot of the "isms" we see are preprocessed beliefs known to fit
each other and a lifestyle neatly. Much simpler and faster to adhere to
than make a DIY belief system. There are also simplified belief modules
for sale for those who want to do some home-thinking but want to avoid
the hassle of going all the way from the axioms.
The problem with selling transhumanism using the urge pyramid (Maslow's
stair wasn't cool enough? :-) is that the competition about the base is
so fierce - while we can point out the lovely sexual and culinary
visions of transhumanism, they have to compete with right here and right
now sex and food. We are far better att attracting people near the apex.
Which is another reason why I prefer to go for the intellectual jugular
