Humania,
According to my reading of Frederick von Hayek the Weimar Republic had
a socialist government that was failing of its own weight. The German
citizenry wishing to continue the socialist form of government in desperation
turned to Hitler to be its savior. Hayek traces the resulting chaos as being
the inevitable trace of a socialist government. He does not chalk Hitler off
to the inherient weakness or wickedness of the German people.
