    If you were in a logistics unit running a supply convoy, not expecting
    to be involved in combat personally, you'd be slightly confused when a
    group of Iraqis faked a surrender to ambush your unit, then when your
    unit surrendered, they shot most of your unit in the head. You'd be
    scared shitless of saying or doing the wrong thing.

    I'll note that of the 5 survivors of this massacre, one is a welder,
    the lone female is a chef, and the others are of similar non-combat
    occupations.

    countenance it, to not prosecute those who perpetrated it.
