For the benefit of those who may not have been on the list at the time let
me give an example of another of Samantha's less than brilliant estimates of
the number of people who would be killed by the USA in another war: On
October 25, 2001 Samantha Atkins wrote "Our response has nothing to do with
being tolerant or even remotely rational. At the current rate millions of
Afghanis will die this winter from hunger." Well Samantha millions did not
die that winter from hunger and I find it interesting that toppling a brutal
midlevel regime, that was protecting a man who admitted was behind the 911
attacks and the murder of over 3000 Americans, was not rational. According
to you it was not even REMOTELY rational. To my knowledge you have not
retracted those words to the present day, perhaps that is why many of us
feel your estimates and opinions regarding this war are not worth much.
