    [Noah Horton]
It is disturbing, but it looks like Bush learned lessons from WWII.
Churchill always called WWII The Preventable War (or something close to
that) because he always felt that if the world had stepped in earlier, it
would not have gotten to that point.

See if you can identify what scenario this refers to.

Country A loses a major war and is told that it cannot rearm. Organization
B is responsible for ensuring that country A does not rearm. Organization B
passes numerous decrees that are ignored by country A. Organization B
refuses to take military action to stop the continued rearmament of country
    A. Finally, country C refuses to standby the inaction of organization B and
    takes action against country A.

    Now for the key.

           WW1-WW2 Gulf War - Present
    A Germany Iraq
    B League of Nations U.N.
    C Russia U.S.

Hopefully the U.S. is taking action early enough this time that the
repercussions will not be as dire. This is also a convenient time to point
out how much resistance their was in the US against entering WWII. Before
Pearl Harbor, the President could not garner enough support to enter the
war. After Pearl Harbor, nearly half of the U.S. was still against the war.
If we had listened to the pacifists, then the official language of Europe
    would be German.
