    You just shoot your credibility in the foot with statements like this

    To me it seems clear that the reason France, Germany, and Russia are
    opposing a US invasion of Iraq are:

    1) Their populations are extremely polarized against it.

    2) Their elected leaders want to stay in power.

    3) (Most importantly) Their governments want to limit US power
    projection and unilateral action.
