    I used to be an avid bike rider, but I've come to the conclusion that
    it's just too dangerous. I still like to ride offroad occasionally, but
    commuting or riding in other potentially lethal circumstances just
    doesn't make sense rationally to me. I think about people I know who
    were hit by cars, and people like Stephen King who almost died, and
    count myself lucky to have made it this far.
