Ah, so? Thanks for the correction. Checking that
page
in further detail, it seems that ~5 watts (2200 kcal)
would be about the difference between sleeping (or at
least resting) literally all day and having a very
active day (as they define it). The offsetting energy
input would be less than double normal (balanced diet)
levels, thus making a 5 watt output (active for
about 1/3rd of the day, as described before) a rather
more feasable level. (Of course, then we get into
matters of energy conversion efficiency, storing the
converted energy in forms more efficient than
biological, and other factors which could
significantly
increase the actual glucose energy consumption.)
