It is a statistical fact that a medically immortal human being has an
average life expectancy of a little over 4000 years due to accidental
death involving massive brain damage. This is assuming such an
individual would not engage in increasing amounts and varieties of high
risk activities.
If you never are able to upload or otherwise store the contents of your
mind in a more durable substrate, then even an immortal has to die of
something. While I don't think it likely that you could go 4kyears
without having uploading technology (unless you get marooned on a
planet without any technological civilization), this is a real possibility.
