In a message dated 2/28/2003 12:22:31 PM Central Standard Time,
amara@amara.com quotes: "Our fervent pursuit of war with Iraq is driving us
to squander the international legitimacy that has been America's most potent
weapon of both offense and defense since the days of Woodrow Wilson."
Amara,
Thank you very much. I guess the quotation I have placed above is the
one that really sounded artificial to me.
I recognise I come out of an older school. If you want an example of
that school you might try reading Peggy Noonan's column today. It can be
found at
http://opinionjournal.com/columnists/pnoonan/
Coming from a viewpoint that agrees with Ms Noonan the Kiesling letter
in particular and events in general sound to me to be not illuminating or
helpful but instead to be nothing but a person fishing in troubled waters to
our country's detriment.
If this letter is not a piece of creative fiction then it most
certainly is not the act of a diplomat trying to help but one attempting
harm.
