    With regards to the post-cold war world, I agree with you, though much
    of the problems in the world today are a matter of cleaning up the
    messes ignored during or created during the cold war.

    I might also add that, despite the positive view of the Iranian people
    protrayed in an article posted today, it is Iran's government which
    continues to be the biggest supporter of Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad.
    The IJ fellow busted this past week in Florida's primary function it
    seems was to keep track of where Iran's money was going in the IJ
    organization. Iran purports to be a functioning democracy with a
    theocratic control structure, and it continues to fund terrorism.

    When the US is dealing with just one thug per arab nation, it is far
    easier to control where the money goes than when you have to deal with
    a democracy that may decide to do other things, especially if it has
    its own revinue sources.
