Thanks for your help. Is this a quote from Spycop marketing literature?
Or is it from some reputable third party reviewer? I already have the
trial version of SpyCop, which only scans a percentage of files. I am
thinking of buying the full version of it to do a full scan, if indeed
it is the "recognized leader" in the field.

To my great horror I have learned from my own web research over the last
48 hours that this is not actually so. Certain keylogging programs can
be installed remotely via executable email attachments, and managed
remotely as well, completely unbeknownst to the subject under
surveillance. See for example the iSpyNOW product at
http://www.spy-software-planet.com/ispynow.htm. I believe there are
other such products as well.
As I've written, I know better than to execute email attachments from
strangers. However I might very well have once executed such an
attachment from a former female friend who might now be trying to
disrupt my personal life. That is actually the best case scenario. I
hope I am merely the victim of a woman scorned.
