I wonder if those who support continued inspections as an alternative to
war could answer a question for me. Who will pay to keep hundreds of
thousands of soldiers in the Middle East in combat ready condition while
the inspections continue indefinitely? This question assumes that Saddam
will kick out the inspectors and restart his weapons programs (or just
continue them if they were never stopped) as soon as the United States
brings back its soldiers, but why wouldn't he?
