    Oh, Avatar, you should ignore those calls for "no more
    talk about X". For one thing, it violates the spirit
    of openness. But that's a minor point compared to:

        WHY DON'T PEOPLE MERELY SKIP THREADS AND POSTERS
        THAT DON'T INTEREST THEM?

    Goodness knows that I don't have time for all. I had to
    skip the "War with Iceland" thread merely because of time
    constraints. (But at least two other threads I skip
    because I'm not interested in the discussions.)

    What worries me is that the honest answer to my question
    above is "because I'm so addicted to this list that I
    have to read every goddamn post".
