Normally selegiline (deprenyl) is not injected. It is taken orally, by
tablet or solution.
One reliable source of selegiline (deprenyl) is an overseas company
called International Antiaging Systems (IAS). You can order online from
IAS at www.antiaging-systems.com. I can vouch for this firm's integrity;
I and my friends ("customers") have been doing business with IAS for
many years.
Selegiline (deprenyl) can be purchased at IAS in liquid or tablet form.
There are some theoretical reasons to believe the liquid form is
superior to the tablet form, but personally I take it in tablet form
(mainly because I have a huge personal inventory of 5mg tablets).
Here is pricing information about the two deprenyl products offered by
IAS:
Deprenyl Liquid (SeleprylR) 12ml 300mg bottle.
Price: $69.95
This is selegiline in a citrate base. 1 drop equals 1mg. There are 300mg
in one bottle.
Deprenyl Tablets (JumexR) 50 x 5mg tablets
Price: (3 or fewer items) $39.95
Price: (4 or more items) $37.50
The proper dosage for healthy people is probably a function of age.
Younger people should take lower doses. A friend of mine (Dr. Ward Dean,
M.D.) has worked out a suggested dosage schedule by age group. I will
post it later if anyone is interested. In the meantime I suggest that
healthy middle-aged people start with just 1 mg per day. This is a very
small dose: it is only about 1/10 to 1/30 the dose used typically for
purposes of treating neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's and
Alzheimer's.
