Brian,
At least you are open and honest about your beliefs. You recognize
that terrorists entered our country and assassinated 3000 people that were
either our citizens or visitors to our country.
However you regard this sort of thing as acceptable. You caution us
about the undesirable consequences of having everyone retaliate against
terrorists.
And you go further, when the US decides to retaliate you say, "we are
fed up with America throwing its wait around internationally."
Finally you leave us with this piece of advice, "One must realize that
one lands
pain at tragedy is no greater than any others." I take it that means you are
drawing a moral equivalence between their initiating a terrorist attack and
our retaliation.
Well, at least I understand you. But, please understand this: I do
not believe that an act of terrorism is morally equivalent to hanging a
terrorist. I do draw an equivalence between a 3rd party hiding a terrorist
and the act of terror itself. And I do not draw an
equivalence between fighting back when attacked (and threatened with further
attack) and throwing our weight around.
I also draw an equivalence between the analysis you have offered us and the
babbling of an imbecile.
Take care,
Ron h.
