    They drive *very* fast.

    Suprisingly, the Portuguese drivers are exceedingly considerate
    of bicyclists, if my one week last year sharing the roads with
    them is a good indication

    Italian drivers are too (so far from this experience). I still
    ride defensively, but it's better than I expected.
