Well, spacecraft losses are higher, for one. Space travel -- at least,
the launch and recovery aspect -- is still a tricky business and not
like train or aircraft travel. Not yet, that is.

You're right. This morning, one commentator mentioned that the Israeli
astronaut Ilan Ramon's parents were killed in a concentration camp. At
least, Ilan died doing what he wanted to do rather than at the hands of
maniacs or crossing the street.
