Knowing just how much of a time-suck political debates can be, I've
tried to stay off of them on this list.
As a proxy for my own participation I'd like to point this list to an
essay by Robert Wright, author of The Moral Animal and Non Zero.
Wright has written several essays on the topic of the root causes of
terrorism and how to address them. Indeed, he was writing on this
topic long before 9/11. This post 9/11 essay, though, fairly well
sums up my opinions on the matter.
