Hmm.
One idea is to say "Hmm" a lot. It gives people the impression that you're a
person who listens and thinks carefully before speaking.
Seriously, I learned this little tidbit in a seminar designed to help
professional consultants improve their skills in gaining new clients. In my
experience it works when done correctly. Also the people who presented the
seminar seemed pretty intelligent; they were certainly making a lot of money
selling these seminars to professional consultants like me. Hmm. :-)
