Natural gas is about 30%-50% more efficient for heating applications
than electric. I will note that Texas has a rather minimal need for
heating applications compared to, say, the Northeast ( our -20F to 10F
cold snap just broke after almost three weeks....). Outside of cooking
(and I hear y'all prefer charcoal for that anyways) and hot water for
showers (you DO take those down there?) and baths, I don't s'pect that
there's much need for natural gas down they'uh, for consumer end applications.
