That's a very curious assertion. Frankly, I'm aware of very few
reasonably free nations that /weren't/ created by force. We didn't
become an independent and free country because a bunch of guys
signed a declaration; we became free because when our British
rulers sent troops to enforce their rule, we killed them. Most
of Europe fought wars to throw off their monarchies; we rebuilt
Germany and Japan ourselves with American troops. About the only
important democracy I know of that got that way in a reasonably
bloodless way is the UK.

History does not seem to support your assertion.
