D. Broderick noted:
<<A prime example is Nigeria.  This is a country whose
freedom is being eroded.  Right now they cannot even
host a beauty contest.  Freedom of speech and freedom
of the press are functionally gone.  Im a big fan
of democracy, but I can scarcely blame the minority
for fighting like hell against the oppression and loss
of freedom.  spike>>

Well, this is the psycho-social dilemma of Islam as it is now constituted.
Its like when those American women marry Islamic males and have children, and
then head for Saudi or Egypt, the hubbies undergo a personality change. So
good behavior is not an ethics thing, but merely the balance of power thing.
So too, must it be with Muslim awareness of the djimmi. If your observation
as listed above is true, then we run into immigration issues, and what needs
to be done. We may, as Josef Bodansky speculated; figure out a way that our
successes to not irritate traditional Islamic cultures. He, I suggest, was
talking about a mutually agreed upon, isolation.

This is an idea that may never have ought to have seen, the light of day; but
looking at this conflict between civilizations and religions, perhaps its the
more prudent path?
