There was a period in Niels Bohr's life when he was fond of the Chinese
yin-yang-philosophy and - if I remember it right - he mentioned this truth
thing refering to the philosophy of opposites that don't contradict but are
equally matched like black and white, day and night, cold and hot, etc. No
one would claim that cold is true and hot is not. I think one should
understand the statement "the opposite of a great truth is also a great
truth" in this frame of reference.
