"Why a creative brain?" by William Calvin

(its ~ a book chapter in length probably would take 20-30 minutes
to read).

It touches on some aspects of why brains are creative and aspects
of how they develop (both from an evolutionary and developmental
perspectives). Calvin is, IMO, one of the sharpest people out
there in trying to tie down sociology and anthropology with
practical day-to-day insights as well as linking it back to
basic biology and physiology.
