Why not implant immature organs straight into the patient? Current kidney
transplant recipients walk away with 3 kidneys, so surely half a dozen daisy
chained immature kidneys could handle the job. Hearts would offer a more
complex problem. perhaps the original heart and one or two immature hearts
plumbed in parallel?
Of course you may feel a bit bloated after a year or two, so removal of
excess organs may be necessary when they have grown, but then you also have
spare organs ready for someone else <G> it's a win win-win situation
