There was some media fuss here in England a year or two ago because some
female virgin was going to be artificially inseminated and could therefore
claim a 'virgin birth'. The religious leaders didn't seem very impressed
with the idea that science could match their supposed miracles (odd, since
several prominent christians here, bishops AFAIR, have publicly stated
that they don't believe in either the virgin birth or resurrection). Don't
know if they persuaded her not to do it.
