couldn't use. Oh, yeah, the present and past continuous. E-prime, like many
limits, has benefit for thinking about the limits, but I prefer a subset
that doesn't cut out any tenses. (See, I did it. I think.)
I looked at this paragraph a LOT, but missed that one:
My friend and I tried it for ten minutes last month and found that we
couldn't use some major part of English that didn't have much to do with
identity.
