Any half-decent seed AI should be able to adapt its software to run on Blue Gene's hardware. It doesn't require human intelligence or raw power, I should think. The real problem will come if we can't get the seed up to rewrite-assembly-code level without the hardware. Or, worse, if we can't develop the seed architecture without the hardware.
