I have a similar experience. 

My brother is ..........rather well to do. (VERY positive net worth)  I'm a 
poor working stiff.  (Over the road truck driver with a "just now" barely  
positive net worth.)  I have a line of credit via credit cards which exceeds
his.

It irritates him no end.
