This bit of treacle has been going all over the net the last few days/weeks/months. I spent half an hour yesterday trying to track down the author. It has been used in a number of religious sermons and newsletters, but always attributed to "author unknown". I doubt very much that it is by George Carlin; not his style at all. The piece is apparently titled "The Paradox of Our Times". The earliest reference I found to it was late 1998 so it probably hasn't been around too long. Is there a web site specializing in tracking down the source of weedlike memes like this?
