Kill files should be used, not published. By killfiling someone, you are making a deliberate decision that there are ninety trillion interesting things in the Universe and this person is not in the top ten thousand. I don't have time to read every message on this group; just the ones on subjects I care about or the ones from Sane People. Making a big deal out of it wastes more time than you'd spend reading messages and thus obviates the entire purpose.

Furthermore, by turning killfiles into a political tool, you increase the probability of reciprocal killfiling and allied killfiling, which could result in every subgroup living in their own private mailing list. If certain people are really idiots, do you want to deprive them of the benefits of your wisdom?
