Dunno if I *presently* count as a transhumanist kid, but I read "Great Mambo Chicken and the Transhuman Condition" at a very early age - I think 10 or 11.
(I even understood it.) Anyway, that was my first real introduction to the
idea of transformational technology in the here-and-now, rather than only in the science fiction I had already been reading for three or four years.

Moral of the story: It all starts with "Space Cadet".
