G.P. -- I'm so sorry to hear that your mother died. I know exactly how you
feel, having watched a loved one deteriorating rapidly and dying. I
experienced that terrible loss when I was eleven and my father died. That
experience may have helped me realize early on that, as you say, aging and
death are not necessary, not desirable, just a horrible and pointless waste.

I'm glad that you are with us in "The Party of Life". I have no real idea
of when exactly we will conquer death, but we will. To me, this is the core
extropian concern until it is achieved. I've been intending to set up new
topic-specific ExI email lists (expanding the NodeNet idea). The time has
come to start with a Superlongevity list. I'll post information about it
this afternoon.
