MEMORY: Lotsa light shed on the process

Scientists from UCSD are reporting that they now have pictures
of short term and long term memories being formed.

Using non-invasive pulses of light they can induce "natural"
neuroal excitations which induces actin polymerization to
move neurons toward one another. Repeated excitation
resulted in the formation of new synapses forming long
term memories.

I'll leave it to the list to see if they can find a pointer
to the Abstract from the Nov. 30th Cell. I'll leave it
to Anders to provide a better description of the process
since I suspect some information may have gotten lost
in the above "translations".
