Brian, you are far from the only one who feels this way.

While we are reiterating and tightening up the rules on posting behavior,
we have already decided to add a limit on number of postings. There are
several repeat offenders, some of who have been asked several times in
private to limit their volume, but who are so inpenetrable or lacking in
self-awareness that they continue.

The exact rule is yet to be determined. (*Private* emails to me or E. Shaun
regarding how many postings per day you think is reasonable would be helpul.)

Let this be an early warning! Less volume, more thought and quality.
Unlimited postings seem to act like cheap money -- it causes verbal
inflation and debasement of the communications medium. It's time to garrot
the garrulous and lock up the loquacious.

In homage to Ring Lardner (by way of Robert Anton Wilson) I will fondly
refer to this as the "Shut up, he explained" Rule.
