A fool may have been born with some mental deficiency that prevents them
from comprehending more rational modes of thought. Thus, they cannot be
blamed for being trapped in that unfortunate position.

However, a wise person is fully capable of rational thought and logical
debate, and can choose among many superior options. If such a person
rejects rationality and logic, consciously preferring ad hominem over other
avenues, they are even more foolish than the fool. Although they were not
born a fool, they are consciously putting themselves into the fool's
position.
