Dystopian writers and comic artists have been predicting since the 1960s that
people will need spacesuits or some such personal protective equipment just to
survive on Earth, which is becoming a toxic waste dump, not to mention the
possibility of pollution via bio-terror and chemical warfare. The wearable
self-propelled robotic suits that are designed for combat soldiers may end up
as the business suits of the post-evolutionary phase transition.
