RE: Look backwards for safety

I read an article a few weeks ago by someone who got to go on a visit to
an aircraft carrier. They flew the passengers to the ship in a modified
cargo plane. It had no passenger windows and had all the seats facing
backwards, perhaps because of the hard landing. The plane has a tail hook
which has to catch an arresting cable. Of course taking off is assisted
with a catapult so that has to be pretty fast too. But apparently facing
the seats backwards was considered safer for this application.
